His portrayal of the evil and sadistic Clown Prince of Chaos was as gritty and realistic as we had ever seen. Ledger’s Oscar-winning performance without a doubt contributed to the movie’s critical and commercial success. Today, many consider The Dark Knight as the best superhero movie of all time.
